Lake Ziros is located near Filippiada, in the Regional Unit of Preveza, and is one of the most important natural attractions of Epirus. It is a natural lake of unique beauty, spread out in a lush landscape of forests, rocks and gentle hills. Geologists estimate that the lake was formed about 10,000 years ago, when the roof of a huge underground cave collapsed, creating the current water basin. With a length of about 900 meters, a width of 600 meters and a depth of up to 70 meters, Lake Ziros is one of the deepest natural lakes in Greece. Its clear waters, the lakeside forest and the rich biodiversity create a unique ecosystem, which is home to many species of plants and animals. Today, the area is a favorite destination for visitors seeking tranquility and contact with nature.
